MVCA Shoreline Hazard Mapping

Detail Of Services: The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) is seeking consulting services to undertake the Lake Huron Hazard Mapping Project (the Project). The Project will be initiated in 2021 and must be completed by March 2023.MVCA has approximately 50 km of Lake Huron shoreline, spanning parts of the jurisdictions of three Municipalities (the Town of Goderich, Municipality of Central Huron and Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh) all located within the County of Huron (Figure 1). The lakeshore area is comprised predominantly of agricultural lands with strip residential developments bisected by the Lakeshore Road. The Town of Goderich is a designated tourist residential node that consist of a mix of seasonal and year-round developments. There are also seasonal trailer parks and campgrounds within the lakeshore area. In addition to these privately owned facilities, there are Point Farm Provincial Park, and other public facilities such as the Homan Marina Inlet and the Goderich Main Beach where the Maitland River spills into Lake Huron.
