A pre-recorded awards presentation will take place Nov. 17, during the CCPPP virtual conference.
EllisDon’s GO Rail project included construction of twin tunnels, with one rail line each, under the interchange of Highway 401 and 409 and was selected for the silver Award for its many innovative approaches to address construction challenges.
EllisDon says the project team brought in new boring technology, utilized a sequential excavation method for traffic management to ensure all lanes of the highway remained operational, and a complex network of monitors that covered the surface of the highway as well as the existing tunnels and the surrounding earth.
Three awards are presented annually to public institutions/governments and their private sector partners for outstanding achievement in Canadian public-private partnerships (PPP) and may be announced in the following key areas:
- Project Development
- Project Financing
