KG Group proposes redeveloping The Oaks, a complex of six two and a half-storey rental apartment buildings southeast of Yonge and Sheppard into a couple of highrise towers. The planned development will bring 452 rental apartments to the North York City Centre area.

Urban Toronto reports that the developer filed an Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Amendment application with the City of Toronto in August for two 18-storey residential towers connected by a terraced podium to replace the existing low-rise buildings at 10 Oakburn Cr.

The 8,000 sq. m., semi-circular shaped site, 330 metres east of Yonge Street, is currently occupied by buildings with 66 rental units constructed in the 1950s. There also is a surface parking lot and two parking structures on the site.

Kirkor Architects & Planners designed this project, which features an extended podium with two towers atop, rising 18 storeys, DataBid.com reports.
