The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies-Canada (ACEC) says Lawrence Luckey of BCL Engineering Ltd. has been named as chair of the association’s board of diretors for the 2019-2020 term.

Luckey first joined the ACEC-Canada board in 2015 and has served on various committees.

“During his term as ACEC Chair, he plans to build upon the excellent work of his predecessor Michael Snow and will continue to promote the essential role of consulting engineers in Canadian society. He will also work to strengthen relationships with government officials, increase engagement with ACEC members, and promote best practices for procurement such as Qualifications-Based Selection (QBS).

ACEC-Canada says Lukey has more than 25 years of consulting experience, and “understands not only the importance that engineers have in forming public policy, but also the importance of managing relationships with members and clients effectively. An advocate for small business members, he also believes in the value of diversification within the consulting engineering profession.”

“Lawrence’s long time dedication to our association and the consulting engineering industry has been a great asset to our board. His passion for our sector and commitment to furthering ACEC’s strategic objectives will ensure the interests of our members remain top-of-mind for the association,” ACEC-Canada president John Gamble said in a statement.
