For the second consecutive year, the Niagara Home Builders’ Association (NHBA) has organized a back to school supplies drive in support of Project Share Niagara Falls. This drive raises donations of the most needed school supplies for Niagara’s youth including shoes, backpacks, lunch snacks and water bottles.

This year has been a particularly challenging one for families across the region, with many parents and guardians facing job losses with the onset of COVID-19. With the cost of living constantly increasing, many households just do not have the extra funds to purchase back to school supplies for their child, or multiple children.

“With the support of our members, the NHBA is proud to support such an important cause”  NHBA resident Tony Alfieri said in a statement. “These youth are our future, and it is imperative they have the right tools when they set foot into the classroom”

Hundreds of back to school items were delivered to the Project Share office in Niagara Falls, for distribution by staff to pre-qualified families throughout the region. Donations also included monetary offerings, as well as gift cards

Project SHARE programs are designed to create positive, proactive alternatives to allow people to help themselves and their families with dignity in times of crisis. “The NHBA is proud to support an organization which provides such a positive impact for the families, children and youth of our community,” the NHBA statement said.
