After achieving the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Toronto Best Gold Standard earlier this year, EllisDon Facilities Services at OTMH and Halton Healthcare has been awarded the 2021 Earth Awards – Health Care Facility section.

The Earth Award is BOMA Toronto’s opportunity to recognize buildings and their teams for excellence in environmental management in the real estate industry. Utilizing the scoring from the BOMA BEST Program, awards are presented in the various building categories.

The Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) facility involved the construction of approximately 1.5 million sq. ft. on a 50-acre greenfield parcel of land. EllisDon was the majority partner of the construction joint venture to build this hospital. EllisDon was also a partner on the development and facility management teams.

All buildings include full or partial below grade basement levels. There are 33 elevators servicing the main hospital and three elevators servicing the parking garage.

The 400,000-sq. ft. parking garage is a pre-cast concrete structure in conjunction with a cast-in-place reinforced concrete foundation, slab-on-grade and shear walls.

OTMH will participate in the BOMA Canada National Awards and, if successful, the BOMA International Awards.
