The Residential Construction Council of Ontario (RESCON) has updated its COVID-19 vaccine guidance sheet to provide Greater Toronto Area (GTA) builders and workers with information on where to get vaccinated.

RESCON is also hosting webinars and providing information about where to get workers vaccinated in the Greater Toronto Area and is urging all construction industry workers to get vaccinated and receive booster shots.

The next webinar is today (Jan. 13) from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., to educate members about regulations, best practices and public health measures related to the pandemic. For more information or to register, click the link.

“The Omicron variant of the virus is highly transmissible and the risk of contracting it is much higher,” said RESCON vice-president Andrew Pariser, a member of the organization’s health and safety committee. “However, studies have found that with a booster dose, workers are better protected and less likely to be hospitalized.”

This event is a great opportunity to understand what things will look like moving forward with variants of concern and the boosters, and what it all means for the workplace.

COVID-19 Moving Forward: Omicron & Boosters is a 90-minute Zoom webinar featuring:

  • Government update from Chief Prevention Officer Dr. Joel Moody
  • Legal update from Michael Sherrard (Sherrard Kuzz LLP)
  • Ministry of Labour enforcement update from Brian Barron
  • Interactive presentation

“The health and safety of workers in the construction industry has always been the number 1 concern of RESCON,” said president Richard Lyall. “The guidance sheet provides builders and workers the information they need to get vaccinated and ensure they are protected from the virus.”
