SMPS Ontario names 2022-23 executive

The Society for Professional Marketing Services (SMPS) Ontario chapter says Gregory Devine, business development and marketing manager at McIntosh Perry, will be the chapter’s president for the 2022-23 year beginning in September.

The association, which represents marketers and business developers within the architectural, engineering and construction community, has several dozen chapter in the US, along with the Ontario chapter based in Toronto.

Mimi Lai Drivas, a marketing and business development professionals with more than 20 years experience in AEC marketing, will be president-elect. She had in earlier years served as the Director of Communications for the chapter.

The 2022-23 Director of Communications will be Tanvi Kundliwal, an intern architect, who has served on several SMPS Ontario committees since she joined last year, Russell Pollard
immediate past-president and chair, Nominations and Elections Committee, wrote in a memo to chapter members on May 13.

Pollard also wrote that Laura Sears  will be the chapter’s Director of Education and Certification. “Laura is a leader in professional services marketing with experience in both the AEC and legal sectors,” he wrote. “She has been a member of SMPS Ontario for several years and, based in Hamilton, reflects SMPS Ontario’s growing support for members outside of Downtown Toronto.”

  • Director of Membership: Anthony Roppa, principal, vice-president Business Development, Aercoustics Engineering Ltd.
  • Treasurer: Ben Uppal, director, Business Development and Marketing, Fox Contracting Ltd.
  • Secretary: Allie Bell, proposal manager, A.W. Hooker Associates
