Toronto’s largest building permits issued in April included:

571 Dundas St. W.

Permit value: $80 million

Building type: Apartment

Number of units: 174

This building is part the of revitalization of the Alexandra Park Apartments and Atkinson Housing Co-operative.  Toronto planning documents say the revitalization plan proposes to demolish and replace 333 townhouse and apartment units, refurbish and retain 473 apartment units, add 1,540 market units, and introduce retail uses on the ground floor at appropriate locations. The plan also proposes an extended public street network and two new public parks.

Tridel is building market-rate housing as part of the project.

203 College St. W.

Permit value: $44 million

Building type: Mixed use residential with non-residential

Number of units created: 243

The Theory Condominiums website says “sold out’ but “office space available”

“Theory is poised at the centre of the U of T Downtown Campus in Toronto’s exciting Discovery District. The commercial space at Theory offers a prime location for businesses seeking an address within this world-renowned high tech community.”

4588 Bathurst St.

Permit value: $37 million

Building type: Community Hall

This permit relates to a project at the Presserman Jewish Community Centre.
