Toronto issues $392 million in January building permits

Toronto issued $392,518,319 in building permits in January.

The largest permit was a $60 million permit for the continuing construction of the 21-storey Upper East Side Condos at 939 Eglington St.

The permit is for 232 units, but published reports indicate the project has 514.

Camrost Felcorp and DiamondCorp are the developers and IBI Group are the architects.

The condos are not inexpensive – priced in the range between $$1,437,900 to over $2,864,900.

Other significant permits issued in January include:

  • $60 million – 555 University Ave., The Hospital for Sick Kids
  • $13 million – 2000 Bathurst St., a 54-unit apartment project
  • $10 million – 52 Scarsdale Rd., 52 Scarsdale: a 2-storey industrial and office building designed by Julian Jacobs Architects for Forager Real Estate Partners Inc.
