Waterloo Region seeking input on road improvements improvements

waterloo 1

Region of Waterloo staff is planning to reconstruct the deteriorating storm sewers and roadways along King Street, from Bishop Street to Concession Road, and Coronation Boulevard from Concession Road to Water Street/Hespeler Road.

Along with this work, the Region will replace significant sections of aging sanitary sewers and watermains, and also provide enhanced active transportation facilities for pedestrians and cyclists, including multi-use trails, cycle tracks and sidewalks.

cambridgePrior to any approvals, the city is seeking input on the project. King Street and Coronation Boulevard are two distinctly characterized roadways. As a result, these two sections have been reviewed separately with two alternatives proposed for each roadway.  Active transportation improvements, including multi-use trails, cycle tracks and sidewalks are provided for in each option.

This public consultation opportunity is open until July 6 at www.engagewr.ca/king-and-coronation-improvements. Project documents, including frequently asked questions, are also available on this webpage.

Regional officials have posted a video presentation that includes an overview of the project, proposed improvement alternatives, and information on how you can share your comments by July 6. Questions about the consultation or project can be directed to Greg Proctor, project manager, gproctor@regionofwaterloo.ca, (519) 575-4729.
