EllisDon is continuing a partnership at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, delivering carbon footprint tracking and advising on sustainability practices.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be held from 28 August to 8 September with around 4400 athletes competing in 22 sports.

During the games, the team will focus on energy and water consumption, waste, procurement, international transportation, and in-country transportation services.

Since 2021, EllisDon’s Infrastructure Services & Technology (IST) Division, a group of teams focused on optimizing the built environment through technology-backed solutions, has been a proud partner of the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) and a supporter of the ParalympicFoundation of Canada.

“As a proud member at EllisDon, I am deeply committed to the success of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Our team takes great pride in offering our expertise and guidance to shape the Canadian spaces at the Athletes Village, aiming to embody its vision and foster a supportive atmosphere,” said Scott Goe, project Ccordinator, interiors – furniture, equipment & design (FED). “Our collaborative approach ensures that all operational facilities and services are accessible and sustainable, demonstrating our ongoing dedication and support for our Canadian athletes and workers.

“This year will be my second year supporting our Athletes and Canadian Paralympic Committee, and I am humbled to be involved in this project.”

Starting with the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, EllisDon provided key services at the Paralympic Village, including concierge support, space planning and pre- & post-occupancy inspection services. Our partnership with the CPC became official in 2021 and our team continued to build on our service offering. At the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Games and Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games, the team provided on-site operations and maintenance technical expertise, inventory management and signage strategy and implementation.

“As part of EllisDon’s commitment to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, I am proud to lead procurement efforts for the Canadian spaces at the Athletes Village, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity at every step,” said Mirela Cupovic-Panthaki, procurement manager – EllisDon Facilities Services (EDFS). “Our unique approach integrates sustainable practices, such as minimizing waste and prioritizing eco-friendly materials, to support a greener future for all athletes.

“I am honoured to participate on a project that celebrates determination, greatness, and inclusivity and I am looking forward to supporting the Canadian Paralympic Team in Paris.”
