Work underway on new road to Fort William Historical Park

Ontario Construction News staff writer

Construction is underway on a secondary access road into Fort William Historical Park (FWHP) in Thunder Bay.

The new road includes an adjacent trail as well as an additional exit from the parking area, according to a report by Northern Ontario Business.

The business publication says Bruno’s Contracting has share of the project worth about $6 million, though Fort general manager Sergio Buonocore said it’s too soon to put a final price tag on the project

The project is located off Broadway Ave., between Highland Court and King Rd., the existing entrance to the park. It will connect with King Rd. just south of David Thompson drive.

The work is expected to be completed by the fall of 2021.
