2024 Housing Summit to address challenges in Eastern Ontario

Ontario Construction News staff writer

The Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association (GOHBA) is organizing the 2024 Eastern Ontario Housing Summit, a collaborative effort to address housing challenges.

The summit will take place on May 28 at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre.

The summit will focus on the co-ordination of housing supply and demand in the region, with a particular emphasis on the impact of population trends and housing demand from people moving out of major centres and into smaller rural communities. It will also examine the impact of the regional economy on housing demand, and how housing affordability and supply will affect the economy in turn.

The summit will feature presentations from various organizations, including the Smart Prosperity Institute, the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus and the Rural Ontario Institute.

Enbridge is presenting the event.
