Bird Construction marked Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8 by honouring the courage, contributions, and sacrifices of Indigenous peoples who have served in Canada’s military.

For more than two centuries, Indigenous soldiers have defended the country with strength, skill, and leadership that helped shape Canada’s history and identity. Bird said it continues to recognize those contributions as part of its ongoing commitment to reconciliation, inclusion, and nation-building.

“This day is a time to honour these heroes and their families for their service,” the company said in a statement. “Their legacy continues to inspire our commitment to reconciliation, inclusion, and nation-building.”

Across the company, Bird offices took time to reflect on stories of Indigenous veterans from the communities where employees live and work. The initiative encouraged learning and reflection while recognizing the enduring impact of Indigenous service members.

Bird invited employees and the public to read and share these stories as part of its efforts to build meaningful relationships rooted in respect and understanding.
