Canada Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (CanDACC) has released its 2025 annual report, outlining continued progress in administering federal construction-related dispute adjudications and supporting timely resolution across the industry.

As the designated adjudicator authority under the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act, CanDACC is responsible for overseeing and administering adjudications tied to federal construction projects. The organization also provides training and continuing education for adjudicators.

The report details the volume and scope of adjudications handled over the past year, as well as ongoing efforts to refine and expand the federal adjudication framework. According to the organization, this work plays a key role in ensuring disputes are resolved fairly, efficiently and within tight timelines—an essential component of Canada’s prompt payment regime.

ADR Chambers continues to play a central role in delivering these services, supporting the administration of adjudications nationwide.

The annual report also highlights the evolving nature of adjudication at the federal level, reflecting increased awareness and use of the process among industry stakeholders.

CanDACC derives its authority from the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act and associated regulations, including those governing dispute resolution and criteria such as time limits, interest and applicable circumstances.

Industry participants are encouraged to review the report to better understand how adjudication is being used to resolve disputes and maintain project timelines across federal construction work.
