Waterloo Regional Council approved two major construction projects and two roundabouts last week.

Capital Paving in Guelph will build a new $5.9 million parking lot at the Waterloo International Airport, just south of the current airport development area and north of Kossuth Road.

The second project approved is road work along Bridge Street between University Avenue and Lancaster Street in Kitchener, including new concrete curbs, on-road cycling lanes, and pedestrian crossings.

The $9.4-million reconstruction project was also awarded to Capital Paving and includes new traffic signals, storm sewers, and rehabilitation of a bridge over Laurel Creek.

The project will begin next month and will be completed in October 2023.

Council also approved construction of two roundabouts expected to begin in 2024.
