CDPQ Infra has issued a procurement notice for the TramCité project, marking a key step in preparing for the upcoming procurement phases of a major infrastructure project. The initiative includes a 19-kilometre tramway system with 29 stations, connecting the Le Gendre, Sainte-Foy, Université Laval, Colline Parlementaire, Saint-Roch, and Charlesbourg sectors of Québec City.
This announcement follows a signed agreement between CDPQ Infra and the Government of Québec to proceed with the project’s development.
The TramCité system will be built using a progressive design-build (PDB) model, with construction scheduled to begin in 2027 and operations expected to start in 2033.
CDPQ Infra is inviting local and international companies to familiarize themselves with the procurement process, which will be conducted according to industry best practices and CDPQ Infra’s policies to ensure fair, transparent, and impartial treatment of all stakeholders.
An information session for interested parties will be held in Québec City on Feb. 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
