Ontario Construction News staff writer

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) is celebrating Women in Construction Week through March 7, along with local and provincial HBAs from coast to coast.

Women in Construction (WIC) Week, celebrated March 1–7, 2026 is a nationwide initiative highlighting the important role women play in Canada’s residential construction industry.

CHBA and members across the country will share stories, highlight women’s voices, promote the many career pathways sector has to offer and encourage young women to consider residential construction careers.

“WIC Week is one of many year-round opportunities to celebrate the women who shape our industry, increase visibility for women in the sector, and help inspire the next generation of builders, renovators, developers, and leaders in industry,” CHBA officials said, launching the week-long celebration.

Explore CHBA’s Women in Residential Construction video playlist to hear directly from industry leaders. Learn how they got started, what it’s like working in a male-dominated field, and their advice for women thinking about joining the industry.
