City of London announces winners of the 2021 Urban Design Awards

Ontario Construction News staff writer

The City of London has announced the winners of this year’s Urban Design Awards at a virtual celebration.

“While we weren’t able to celebrate this year’s awards in person, this didn’t affect the quality of entries or enthusiasm from our talented pool of developers, architects, landscape architects, planners and designers in London,” said Britt O’Hagan, Manager of Community Planning, Urban Design and Heritage.

“Every year the entries showcase exceptional talent in London, and we look forward to seeing everyone in person again in 2023.”

The Urban Design Awards are a biennial celebration recognizing and encouraging the implementation of sound urban planning principles. The awards showcase urban planning, original design, and ground-breaking concepts being applied in London. Submitted projects are evaluated based on excellence, innovation and visionary thinking. Londoners also had a chance vote for their favourite entry to determine the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
