CPCA conference program now online

The Canadian Paint and Coatings Association (CPCA) is has released the program for the 108th Annual Conference and AGM to be hosted in Québec City May 25-26.

The theme of this year’s event is “SPARK — Coatings, Change & Innovation” and there will be a focus on digital transformation and sustainability efforts in the industry.

Dan Bresnitz is the keynote speaker this year. He is a professor at the University of Toronto, co-director of the Innovation Policy Lab, the Munk Chair of Innovation at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, and author of “Innovation in Real Places,” He has published several books on innovation and prosperity and has a unique and realistic perspective on what Canada must do to leverage its many investments in innovation in order to be among the top countries on innovation in the world.

Presentations will include regulatory developments in Canada; changes to paint recycling regulations; status on biocide preservatives; supply chain issues and disruptions.

New this year – a discussion panel hosted by Paul Vail, Partner, Advanced Manufacturing and Mobility Consulting Leader, (EY Canada) and Humza Akhtar, Business Consulting Senior Manager, (EY Canada).

Panelists represent all segments of the supply chain:

  • Chris Ellen, (Azelis Canada)
  • Darrin Noble, (Cloverdale Paint)
  • Vince Rea, (PPG Canada)
  • JF Tanguay (IMCD).

They will debate the pressure faced by manufacturers to maximize profitability and operational efficiency and how digital technologies can transform the chemical industry.
