    • Demolition Permit to be obtained by the Owner. Any other permits that may be required are to be obtained by the Contractor.
    • Contractor to provide temporary chain link security fencing (min. 1.8 m height) around demolition area to completely enclose and separate demolition work area from adjacent public area, to safely secure site, and include cloth fabric as required for dust and visual control.
    • Contractor to provide any necessary overhead protection along adjacent sidewalk(s).
    • Contractor to provide any necessary temporary signage and/or flag person to direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
    • Contractor to minimize impact on adjacent properties and shall not block vehicle access, egress and exits. Works shall not cause inconvenience or impacts to the facility users and upon neighbouring properties.
    • The scope of work shall include complete removal and disposal of designated substances, if required as per Designated Substances Report, including asbestos containing materials within the building, and all works will be completed in accordance with Ontario Regulation 490/09 – Designated Substances and Ontario Regulation 278/05 – Asbestos on Construction Projects and in Buildings and Repair Operations made under the Ministry of Labour (MOL) Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) as per the attached Fisher Environmental Ltd. Report. These works, including all required testing, verifications & procedures required for abatements shall be fully included in the bid price.
    • Contractor to coordinate with local utilities and authorities which provide services to the building (hydro, gas, water, telephone, cable, etc.) for proper shut down, termination and disconnection of all site services.

Queens University SNOLAB Mini Crane

Detail Of Services: The mini crane will be located underground in the clean side of SNOLAB. SNOLAB is an underground science laboratory (CLASS 2000 clean space) located 2.2 km (6800 ft) underground near Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. The mini crane will be used inside the SNOLAB clean lab in confined locations. The crane will be used for civil construction and equipment installation. The mini crane will also be used for preventive maintenance of the equipment and material lifting where space is limited. On average, the crane will be used for 2 to 3 day a week (maximum of 25 hours).

The purpose of this procurement is for the delivery, assembly, service and warranty of a mini crane. Delivery will require the mini crane to be transported underground in modular sections and then reassembled for use. The proposed equipment will meet all applicable codes and regulations for Ontario, Canada and must be UL and CSA certified.
