Detail Of Services: This purpose of this RFT is to select a suitably qualified general contractor to renovate the existing intensive care unit department on the 2nd floor of the J wing. The first three floors of J wing were built in 1989, making this portion of the campus 30 years old. No renovations have taken plan in this floor plate since it opened. The dated design, inadequate infrastructure and failing interior finishes/millwork create significant risk to our patients, staff and public.
The following are examples of the scope of work included in this tender that will be addressed within MGH’s intensive care unit infrastructure upgrade and renovation drawings and specifications to be released with the Stage 2 Tender:
-New resilient flooring throughout, including floor preparation
-New acoustical ceiling tiles
-New drywall ceilings in certain areas
-New lighting fixtures throughout
-Replace, patch and paint drywall throughout
-Wall protection
-Nursing station
-Roller shades and curtain tracks
-Charting Stations
-IPAC compliant hand wash sinks
-New macerators
-Millwork in the Medication Room
-New Plumbing fixtures
-Isolation room seals and HVAC adjustments as required
-ICU Breakaway door replacements
-Demolition work related to existing flooring, ACT & drywall ceilings, ICU doors and as required by the scope of work
