Peel Wilkinson Shelter Redevelopment Construction Management Services

Detail Of Services: The new shelter building for homeless adult men will be a 3-storey building, approximately 5,350 sq m (57,600 sq ft) located on the existing site and will accommodate 150 beds plus provision for overflow. The new building will be slab-on-grade construction with a mass timber modular Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and glulam structural system and wall panel system, constructed in 3 phases to mitigate impact to Region of Peel Public Works and Police operations while enabling operational use of the existing shelter: Phase 1 Construction – Construct the south wing, requiring temporary use of existing police parking at the south end of the site for construction staging. Provide temporary site works for relocation of Police parking to an adjacent Public Works yard. Once phase 1 is built, staff and clients will move into the new south wing. Restore and return temporary staging area at south of the site to Police and Public Works and remove associated temporary works. Phase 2 Construction – To start immediately after completion of Phase 1. Move all construction staging and activity to the Wilkinson site. Demolish and remove the existing Wilkinson Shelter. Construct the north wing and link between north and south wings for use by staff and clients. Phase 3 Construction – Once Phase 2 is available for use, complete ground floor renovations to achieve final built. Complete remaining site works including paving, landscaping, other necessary works to achieve successful project completion.
