Niagara Region St. Catharines Train Station Exterior & Interior Alterations Phase II

Detail Of Services: The Niagara Region is seeking a qualified General Contractor to act as the Contractor under a CCDC 2-2020 Lump Sum Contract to renovate the Niagara Region’s St. Catharines St. Train Station located at 5 Great Western St., St. Catharines. The Region is looking for an experienced General Contracting firm with strong Heritage rehabilitation capability that will essential to the success delivery this type of project in scope, on time and on budget with specific emphasis on quality and performance. The existing St. Catharines Train Station is a Heritage building that has just received the completion of site redevelopment allowing for incorporation of new bud loop capabilities, upgraded passenger parking lot accommodations, newly upgraded St. Paul access bridge and new primary site access off of Ridley Rd. Upon receipt of ownership of the St. Catharines Train Station the Region has been making strides to create projects for the much-needed improvements of the existing site and facility. Phase II will see the rehabilitation of the existing “Westerly Covered Platform” to re-establish the once open-air covered structure back to functionality, permitting the use for passenger waiting/drop off accommodations. The Niagara Region has worked closely with the City of St. Catharines Heritage Department to ensure Heritage aspects will be maintained while achieving renovations to existing structure, finishes and functionality, therefore requiring a key understanding of Heritage renovations by the successful bidder. Municipal Building Permit has already been received by the Niagara Region. The successful bidder will work with the Prime Consultant and the Owner under a CCDC 2-2020 Contract.
