Detail Of Services: Trent Energy Inc. (TEI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Peterborough Utilities Inc. (PUI) which owns and operates the Stanley Adamson Powerhouse (SAPH), a 3.9 MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric generating facility on the Otonabee River near Trent University, adjacent to the Nassau Dam. PUI recently completed a hydraulic assessment of head losses in the tail race. The review concluded that material in the area downstream of the Powerhouse was impacting flow and causing production losses. In an effort to mitigate these losses, PUI has selected dredging a portion of the river below the Powerhouse as the preferred tail race optimization project. The extent of the proposed work is on provincial lands. As a result, permits and authorizations for the project will be completed in accordance with the Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act (LRIA) and other requirements from agencies that have jurisdiction including the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (ORCA). The intent of this Request for Proposal is to solicit qualified Proponents to complete field investigations to support the application of a work permit with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests (MNRF) and complete applications from DFO and ORCA.
