The Town of Whitby is set to enhance its waterfront experience thanks to a $200,000 federal grant.
Funding is aimed at revitalizing the area around the Rowe House.
“This investment marks a significant step forward in our efforts to improve public enjoyment of Whitby’s waterfront,” said Whitby MP Ryan Turnbull. “It aligns with the Town’s Community Strategic Plan, which prioritizes enhancing the waterfront as a key aspect of our local development.”
The revitalization project will include several exciting upgrades:
- New spaces for outdoor water sports
- Recreation and placemaking areas with views of the harbour
- A rest stop for cyclists
- Public art installations
- A new visitor information hub
Improvements are designed to attract both local residents and visitors from beyond the region, boosting tourism and contributing to Whitby’s appeal as a vibrant place to live, work, and explore.
