buttonvilleThe airport is located at 2833 16th Ave., south of 16th Avenue and east of Highway 404 and the new development is proposed by Cadillac Fairview Buttonville Properties Inc. An official plan amendment, plan of subdivision and zoning bylaw amendment application have been submitted to the City of Markham.

If approved, the land will be used for employment and industrial development with a stormwater management block. The plan, designed by Glenn Piotrowski Architect Ltd., also includes widening Highway 404. Several phases are expected and the total build would be more than  2.75 million square feet in an 11-block industrial complex with single-storey buildings ranging from 38,000 to 816,000 sq. ft.

Phase 1 includes two buildings and construction of the Allstate Parkway extension.
