Kazim Kanani to be inducted into CSC College of Fellows

Toronto specification writer Kazim Kanani has been nominated and elected to Construction Specification Canada (CSC)’s College of Fellows, a status that CSC says “honours a member’s achievements and contributions to the profession and the association.”

“The College of Fellows is composed of members who have demonstrated outstanding and exemplary professionalism, exceptional scholarly contribution, leadership and distinguished service to the profession and the broader design and construction community,” CSC says.
Kazim, a senior associate and specification specialist at Quadrangle Associates, has served as chair of the CSC Toronto chapter and is currently vice-president, technical studies on the national CSC executive council.

He will share the College of Fellows honour this year with Tom Newton from the Calgary chapter.

Traditionally, the induction process occurs at CSC’s national conference, but the event has been cancelled this year because of COVID-19, so the formal induction will occur next year at the conference in Saskatoon.

In addition to his involvement with CSC, Kazim has served on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Building Envelope Council and is presently serving on the CANstruction Toronto board.

CSC says Kazim has received many accolades for his involvement, commitment and dedication towards CSC and the betterment of the design and construction community.  These recognitions include  includes “numerous Chapter Awards of Merit from the Toronto Chapter, multiple National Awards of Merit, President’s Award, numerous Russell W. Cornell Awards and multiple Programme Directors Awards.”
