PARRY SOUND — A 31-year-old Kitchener man is facing several charges after a Parry Sound construction company was defrauded of more than $40,000, provincial police say.

The Ontario Provincial Police say the West Parry Sound crime unit launched an investigation on July 17, 2025, after receiving a complaint from the local construction firm.

According to police, the eight-month investigation revealed the company had paid invoices that later turned out to be fraudulent, resulting in financial losses exceeding $40,000.

Lawson Enyedike, 31, of Kitchener, Ont., was arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000, using or dealing with forged documents, forgery, and identity fraud.

He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 30.

Police did not identify the victim company in their statement.
