Ontario Construction News staff writer

Harold Reinders, president and CEO of Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd., has been appointed as chair of the League of Champions.

Reinders was previously vice-chair of the not-for-profit organization, which works with construction companies, unions and industry leaders to promote a culture of safety and leadership and to create safer workplaces by championing programs that ensure worker well-being and enhance industry standards.

“It is a great honour to take on this role as chair of the League of Champions,” Reinders said in a release. “Safety has always been central to our values at Maple Reinders, and I look forward to working alongside my team and colleagues to promote a safer and healthier industry for everyone.”

Reinders brings 35 years of varied experience from Maple Reinders to the position. Under his leadership, the company has significantly advanced sustainability, safety, and innovation, which align closely with the League of Champions’ mission, the release said.

As vice-chair, Reinders was instrumental in supporting various League of Champions initiatives, and in his new role as chair, he will be focused on health and safety on the frontline, putting an emphasis on site safety practices.
