Mississauga official plan review focused on housing, growth, transportation and environment

Ontario Construction News staff writer

The City of Mississauga is hosting three virtual meetings to discuss key directions of Mississauga’s official plan review: housing, growth, transportation and the environment.

Having reviewed community feedback since the review was launched in 2019, the current phase of engagement focuses on confirming policy directions for the environment, transportation and growth. Engagement for housing options will explore ideas from the community.

Virtual community meetings are scheduled as follows:

Environment and transportation: June 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Growth: June 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Housing: June 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Register here or call 311. Registered participants will receive meeting instructions and background materials. If you are unable to attend, the meetings will be recorded and can be viewed following the sessions.

Visit the project engagement site to review research briefs, theme summaries and project engagement to date.

The new official plan will decide locations for housing, industry, offices, shops and roads, what parts of the city will be the focus for growth and what it will look like including heights and densities.
