Yet another massive subdivision is heading for approval in Barrie, with the city’s planning committee approving a zoning bylaw amendment.

The property at 620 Lockhart Rd., is expected to receive council approval later this month.

Jones Consulting Group Ltd. submitted the application on behalf of Mattamy Homes (Lockhart Ltd.), with plans to build a 613-unit subdivision on land currently zoned agricultural.

Building permit application fees are estimated at $1.8 million.

Several other developments are expected in the area over the next few years, including Lockhart Innisfil Investments’ proposal for two adjoining properties. The planning committee is expecting staff reports on the proposals later this year.
