A new support network has been launched in Timmins to help women working in trades and technology build connections, grow their careers, and access mentorship opportunities.
Women in Trades and Tech Timmins (WiTT) officially launched June 19 through a partnership with the Timmins Chamber of Commerce and the Timmins Construction Association.
The new network aims to build an inclusive community for women across various sectors, from electricians and plumbers to digital operators and greenhouse technicians.
“Our mission is to foster an inclusive and supportive network for women working in trades and technology across all sectors,” the group’s website states. “Whether you’re just starting out, looking to advance, or ready to lead, Women in Trades and Tech Timmins provides the resources, connections, and opportunities you need to thrive.”
WiTT is open to all individuals in trades and technology-related roles, including welders, cooks, hairstylists, child development practitioners and others working in hands-on, problem-solving or system-building professions.
A lifetime membership costs $25 and provides access to networking opportunities, mentorship programs, career guidance, educational workshops, industry panels and other career resources. The modest fee is designed to keep the program accessible and remove financial barriers to participation.
