The Ontario Asphalt Pavement Council (OAPC) is set to bring together industry leaders and stakeholders for its annual Spring Operations Seminar, highlighting new technologies and best practices ahead of the 2026 paving season.

The event is being held Apr. 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the International Centre, 6900 Airport Rd., Mississauga.

Branded as SOP 2.0, the event will feature a keynote presentation focused on delivering a customized, high-quality paving finish, setting the tone for a program aimed at improving performance and outcomes across the sector.

Organizers say the seminar will also place a strong emphasis on safety, with sessions dedicated to fire prevention and response protocols at both asphalt plants and paving sites. The discussions are intended to help crews and operators prepare for a range of potential scenarios as activity ramps up for the construction season.

Following the seminar, attendees will be invited to take part in an equipment show, offering an opportunity to see the latest machinery and technology in action and connect with suppliers and peers from across the industry.

The event is expected to attract a wide range of participants from across Ontario’s asphalt and roadbuilding sector.
