ODACC adjudications continue during COVID-19 pandemic – One determination made

The Ontario Construction Act’s speedy adjudication system, which went into effect for projects that were under-way or in procurement effective Oct. 1, will continue unimpeded despite social distancing and workplace closure requirements from the COVID-19 pandemic.

ODACC (Ontario Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts) is supporting public health recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We have implemented a work at home plan for all employees,” says project manager Carina Reider. “We remain fully available to assist the public, adjudicators, and to manage adjudications. We also have the capability of conducting video-hearings for adjudications.”

Reider says “to date we have made one Determination.”  ODACC has certified 46 adjudicators so far.

“Statistical information will be available in the annual report,” she wrote in an email to Ontario Construction News.
