OHBA appoints Kirstin Jensen to lead policy, advocacy, and relationships

Ontario Construction News staff writer

The Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) has appointed Kirstin Jensen as vice-president of policy, advocacy and relationships, a new position created to strengthen the organization’s relationships with government and stakeholders.

Jensen, a Ryerson University graduate with a master’s degree in planning in urban development, will head a team of policy, technical and government relations professionals.

She has served in senior government and industry positions, including as political chief of staff to the Ontario Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister and director of policy to the Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

Jensen has also served as planning and government relations manager at the West End Home Builders’ Association.

She will be responsible for advising the OHBA on its policy and advocacy objectives and engaging with government decision-makers and industry stakeholders.

“Since Kirstin first started advising OHBA on policy and strategy back in February of this year, she has been a critical part of our efforts in OHBA being the one voice of the industry with government and stakeholders,” says Dave Depencier, chair of the OHBA board of directors.

“Kirstin has brought a laser-sharp focus to our engagement across government in the advice and perspective we bring as representatives of the home construction industry.”
