Public voting continues until Sept. 11 for the Ontario Home Builders’ Association’s (OHBA) People’s Choice Awards. Voting takes place at www.ohbaaod.ca.
The competition is part of the association’s annual Awards of Distinction, which recognize excellence in home building, renovation, design and industry services across Ontario.
This year’s People’s Choice nominees are Branthaven Homes of Mississauga, Fusion Homes of Guelph, Hallett Homes of Burlington, Losani Homes Ltd. of Stoney Creek, Poetry Living of Woodbridge and RioCan Living of Toronto.
The nominees were selected from finalists in the Project of the Year — Low-Rise and Mid or High-Rise categories. OHBA members and the public can vote at ohbaaod.ca.
OHBA announced its 2026 Awards of Distinction finalists Aug. 24. The awards include 50 categories, with this year’s program featuring the return of the Custom Home Over 5,000 Square Feet category.
Two new categories have also been added: ADU/Secondary Suite in the architectural design category and ADU/Secondary Suite Renovation.
Winners will be announced Sept. 29 at the Awards of Distinction Gala at Blue Mountain Resort, where the event will be held as part of the 2026 OHBA Conference.
OHBA chief executive officer Scott Andison said the association received a record number of project submissions this year.
“2026 has seen a record-breaking number of projects submitted to OHBA’s Awards of Distinction,” Andison said in a release.
He said the submissions reflect improvements in the industry following several difficult years and credited policies implemented at all levels of government.
