ORBA moves annual summit online

Ontario Construction News staff writer

In response to the government of Ontario temporarily moving back to Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen, the Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) has moved the 94th Annual Convention and Annual General Meeting from an in-person event to a virtual event.

As was the case for the 2021 summit, the 2022 summit will now be held virtually over four days – Jan. 26 and 27 and Feb. 2 and 3.

All those who registered for the in-person event will be eligible for a full or partial rebate, depending upon whether they are registering for the online summit.

The theme “Driving Forward Together, Join Us on The Journey,” will be presented with the panel discussions on topics including rebuilding the economy after COVID; addressing the shortage of skilled labour; advances in technology; and workplace safety – providing strategic insights for the road building industry.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation Awards will be presented during the summit, recognizing the 2021 MTO Paver of the Year and the 2021 MTO Concrete Contractor of the Year.
