A new housing development could be coming to Carp Airport, after the City’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee approved a zoning amendment last Tuesday (Nov. 1).

The amendment would allow for 107 dwellings, including 30 townhouses and 77 detached homes, on a portion of the property.

The new development would be located south of the Village of Carp, and would bring into zoning compliance the revised draft approved plan of subdivision.

The committee also approved an engineer’s report confirming the existing municipal drain has the capacity to accept additional water from a proposed new salt storage facility at 2121 Huntley Rd.

The new facility would improve winter maintenance in the nearby rural areas.

Recommendations from the meeting will rise to Council on Wednesday (Nov. 8).
