Barrie police say they have charged a man for selling stolen property from construction sites on a social media platform.

Police say an ongoing investigation identified a primary suspect and, in late January, a search warrant was executed at a Barrie residence.

Officers confirmed that property that had been stolen from several construction sites was being advertised for sale online.

As a result, a 27-year-old male Barrie man was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts), and trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000 (two counts).

Additional property that was located in the house has also been confirmed as stolen from construction worksites and police say more criminal charges are pending.
