There’s still time to have a say on a proposed reconstruction and widening project for Ritson Road North in Oshawa.
The Region of Durham is accepting public comments until July 24 on the recommended design for the reconstruction of Ritson Road North (Regional Road 16), from north of Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) to south of Conlin Road.
The project team hosted a Public Information Centre (PIC) on June 24, providing an opportunity to review the recommended design, ask questions and provide feedback.
Anyone unable to attend the meeting can still review the PIC materials and submit comments online through the Region’s project webpage.
The 1.75-kilometre project is part of a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Schedule ‘C’ Study. The study is examining improvements needed to address future transportation demands, safety, and traffic operations along this section of Ritson Road North.
The recommended design includes the reconstruction and widening of the roadway, with improvements to the corridor intended to accommodate future growth in north Oshawa. The project also includes consideration of infrastructure upgrades, including stormwater, sanitary sewer and watermain improvements.
Following the public comment period, the Region will finalize the study findings and prepare an Environmental Study Report (ESR). The report will be made available for a 30-day public review period before the study is completed.
