Review period for Peterborough’s transportation master plan closes Aug. 21

The City of Peterborough has posted a transportation master plan, Move PTBO, for an official review period until Aug. 21, as required under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process.

City Council approved in principle the study recommendations on March 28, 2023.

peterboroughThe plan includes recommendations for the transportation network and an implementation strategy to support growth and mobility needs to the year 2051.

Goals include:

  • developing a “well-rounded” transportation system to support the growth
  • connect the city, regional and provincial transportation systems
  • encourage sustainable modes of travel and contribute to healthier and liveable communities

Mark Buckshon founded the precursor business behind Ontario Construction News in 1989. Earlier, he worked as a journalist and sub-editor, including a stint on the Bulawayo Chronicle in 1979-80, during the transition from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe.  He has lived in Ottawa since 1981.
