Richmond Hill seeking feedback on future development plans

Ontario Construction News staff writer

The City of Richmond Hill is seeking additional feedback to guide future development in the city.

A series of workshops are open to the public and an online survey is available – the next step in the Official Plan Update project, also known as City Plan.

Each virtual workshop is related to four growth areas identified in the Official Plan: Village, Newkirk and Oak Ridges Local Centres, and the Yonge and 16th Avenue Key Development Area. These growth areas are well-served by transit, with the potential for redevelopment and creating complete communities.

At each session, participants will hear from staff about the Key Directions for the area and be able to join interactive discussions to share thoughts about further development and the community needs.

Online registration for these workshops is now open at RichmondHill.ca/OPUpdate.

  • Yonge and 16th Key Development Area – Tues., Nov. 15
  • Village Local Centre (Yonge St. and Major Mackenzie Dr.) – Thurs., Nov. 17
  • Newkirk Local Centre – Tues., Nov. 22
  • Oak Ridges Local Centre – Thurs., Nov. 24

An online survey is also available to submit input to guide planning within employment areas (e.g. business parks) and intensification areas, including the four growth areas noted above.

Click the link RichmondHill.ca/OPUpdate to participate until Nov. 30.
