The RONA Foundation is inviting Canadian charities to apply for its 2025 Build from the Heart program, offering an opportunity to receive part of a $1-million fund to support construction and renovation projects.
Applications are open until Feb. 28, with the foundation aiming to assist organizations that help vulnerable populations, such as victims of domestic violence, low-income families, and individuals with disabilities or mental health issues.
The program will award $1 million to seven selected charities, which will use the funding for projects that revitalize living environments or increase access to housing for those in need.
To apply, non-profits must submit an application form, which can be found on the RONA Foundation website. A selection committee will review the applications, and the chosen organizations will be announced in mid-April during the launch of the in-store fundraising campaign.
“Providing a safe place to live for vulnerable people is at the heart of the RONA Foundation’s mission,” said Catherine Laporte, President of the RONA Foundation Board of Directors and Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Customer Experience at RONA Inc. “In the face of Canada’s ongoing housing crisis, it’s essential that we continue to mobilize our resources to make a tangible difference.”
Josée Lafitte, Director of the RONA Foundation, emphasized the importance of supporting projects that address the basic need for housing. “Our foundation is committed to ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to a safe, stable place to live,” she said.
The Build from the Heart program, which was launched by the RONA Foundation in 1998, aligns with the organization’s broader mission of improving the quality of life for Canadians by revitalizing their living environments.
