Toronto issues $1.186 billion in July building permits

Toronto issued more than 3,400 building permits in July, with a total value of $1,186,348,965.

The largest permit is for a $150 million project at a hotel/condo project 15 Mercer St. This is an updating permit, as work on the site started in 2019, and the two 45-storey towers are now starting to rise above the ground.

The site developed by Madison Group, Westdale Properties and Nobu Hospitality has been in the planning and early sales stages since 2017, according to Urban Toronto. “This transformative development will anchor a re-envisioned Mercer Street in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District.

Urban Toronto lists Tucker Hirise Construction as the builder and Teeple Architects and Turner Fleischer Architects as the designer. Engineering consultants are The Mitchell Partnership Inc. and Rebar Enterprises Inc. Other subtrades and suppliers include UECL Inc., Unilux HVAC Industries Inc., Priestly Demolition Inc. and Keller Foundations Ltd.
