Seven people were taken to hospital by paramedics on Tuesday to be treated for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning after an industrial accident at a North York construction site.

According to paramedics, one man was in serious but stable condition and six were described as “minor cases.”

A total of 12 people were assessed at the site.

Police say the emergency crews were called to Yonge Street and Cummer Avenue about 1:30 p.m. for reports of an industrial accident and there appeared to be ventilation issues with machinery exhaust.

The Ministry of Labour will continue the investigation.
