Ontario’s homebuilding industry celebrated its best and brightest as the Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) announced the winners of the 2025 Awards of Distinction at a gala event.
The annual program honours creativity, innovation and excellence among builders, renovators, developers, and service professionals across the province. Awards are presented in seven categories, including renovation, architectural design, room design, image and advertising, on-site sales presentation, and the prestigious Builder of the Year and Renovator of the Year titles.
Tridel was named Builder of the Year – Large Volume, recognized for its marketing innovation and leadership in community and workforce inclusion. As market conditions shifted, the company launched “move-in-now” campaigns and offered hard-hat tours to give buyers and realtors direct insight into construction quality. Tridel also developed free seminar series for first-time buyers, downsizers, and investors, while partnering with Toronto Community Housing to establish community economic development models focused on workforce inclusion and local business support.
Terra View Custom Homes Ltd. earned Builder of the Year – Small Volume, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and digital outreach. The company’s marketing campaigns promote Net Zero home benefits and showcase the natural beauty of its developments. Terra View’s consistent recognition — including multiple Green Builder and ENERGY STAR Canada awards — and active participation in local industry associations have made it one of the top five builders in Canada’s CHBA Net Zero Home Labelling Program.
Amsted Design-Build took home Renovator of the Year, marking its 35th anniversary with a citywide “35 Acts of Service” campaign that gave back to the community. The Ottawa-based firm also developed a mental health program in partnership with Algonquin College and the Royal Ottawa, now shared as a model across the industry.
My Design Studio received Service Professional of the Year for its innovative design and marketing strategies that enhance both builder and homebuyer experiences. The firm is active within BILD GTA and other local associations, supporting events that promote excellence and industry collaboration.
The Prestige Award winners included Silvergate Homes, which captured both Project of the Year – Low-Rise and the OHBA People’s Choice Award for Prudhomme Landing, and Brixen Developments Inc., recognized for Project of the Year – High or Mid-Rise for Exhale Residences.
The event was supported by sponsors LP Building Solutions and Reliance Home Comfort. A full list of winners is available at https://www.ohbaaod.ca/winners/winners-2025/
