Wallwin Electric Services Ltd. is offering a $1,000 bursary to support a student enrolled in a post-secondary program or construction trade apprenticeship.
All application materials must be submitted by Jan. 31.
The Jack Wallwin Memorial bursary will be awarded to a student who has graduated or is graduating with a minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent and who demonstrates a combination of academic achievement, trade-related merit and financial need.
Eligible applicants must be residents of Ontario and either Canadian citizens or able to provide proof of landed immigrant status. Applicants must be enrolled in a construction apprenticeship program, construction technology, construction engineering degree program, or another construction-related post-secondary program.
To apply, students must submit a completed application form along with an introductory letter outlining career goals, community or volunteer involvement and financial challenges. Applications must also include a high school transcript, an up-to-date resume, proof of apprenticeship application or acceptance into a relevant institution if applicable, and a brief written or digital submission describing the applicant’s experience in the construction industry. A minimum of two references from an employer or teacher within the past two years is also required.
A selection committee will review the applications, determine the recipient and notify the successful applicant following the review process.
