$104 million downtown Toronto Google building city’s largest building permit in April

Toronto issued 3,219 building permits in April, with a total value of $748,455,417.

The largest permit, valued at $103,882,173, is for an 18-story building mostly for offices to be totally occupied by Google at 65 King St. E.

Catterra Equities is developing the 36,147 sq. m. Of office space, with 1,628 sq. m. of retail space at grade, Urban Toronto reports. The permit says the is for Office Interior Alterations Building Additions/Alterations.

Architects include IBI Group/Page + Steele and Pellow + Associates/WZMH Architects, Urban Toronto says. PCL is the construction manager.

Other significant permits issued in April include:

327 King St. W.  — $82,000,000

This is the site of Empire Communities’ Maverick building, a 49-storey structure combining condos, rental units and retail, according to Urban Toronto. IBI Group and GBCA Architects designed the structure.

runneymede nursing home building625 Runnymede Rd. – $80,000,000

Permit is for a new six-story nursing home building, an expansion by the Runnymede Healthcare Centre. The building will include 200 long care beds and with about 13,030 sq. m. of non-residential Gross Floor Area (GFA).
